About Us

FIRE for Families is run by me, Megan. This is my family, my husband Dan and three children. We’re just a regular family pursuing financial independence and hoping to help others do the same. We’ve been through many different financial periods in our life from broke college students, to young struggling parents, to successful business employees drowning in debt, to digging our way out of debt, and currently in our Coast FIRE stage.

The hardest part about pursuing FIRE is believing that you can.

Finances can be overwhelming and are a source of stress for most families. With this website and blog I am hoping to help alleviate some of that stress, document my family’s path to financial independence, and help you and your family to do the same.

I am forever an optimist and will do my best to put a positive spin on all things financial. From goal setting, to imagining your future, to becoming debt free, I will do my best to make finances interesting and a positive fun family experience for all!
